Dear Members of the Institute of Andean Studies and other Andeanistscholars:

I am pleased to announce that the Board of Directors of the Institute of Andean Studies has appointed a new Editor for the journal Ñawpa Pacha: Jerry Moore of California State University at Dominguez Hills. This is a planned transition, carried out at the request of previous Editor Kathe Schreiber, who has served unselfishly for many years in bringing the improved journal back to a regular publication schedule.  As an Institute we are lucky to have the services of these fine individuals; we all deeply appreciate Kathe's devoted service, and we are equally fortunate to have Jerry onboard. I have long been in awe of his productivity in personal publication,and he enters the editor's role without undue coercion, and even with a sense of momentum and enthusiasm!

I would like to use this opportunity to encourage Andeanists, including members and non-members of the Institute, to consider publication in Ñawpa Pacha.  With the professional publication and distribution of Left CoastPress, regular publication twice each year, an efficient yet seriouspeer-review process, a commitment to digital and web availability, soon toinclude JSTOR, and a modest backlog of accepted articles, Ñawpa Pacha can be considered a premier and mainstay journal of South American archaeology.
